If your request does not fit into any of the above categories, please email us at translation@my.bpp.com and we can discuss if your request is something we can fulfil.
Important: Our volunteers are BPP students who generously offer their time to support clients in understanding legal information, translating documents and communicating more effectively. However, they are not professionally qualified interpreters or translators, particularly in relation to legal documents, witness statements, court hearings, or other formal legal proceedings.
Any assistance provided by our volunteers is offered solely in a personal, voluntary capacity and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional translation or interpretation service. We are unable to provide certified translations, professional interpretation services, or guarantees as to the accuracy required for official legal purposes.
Please note our insurance does not cover external interpretation requests, including interpretation at court hearings, police interviews, witness statement preparation, or other formal legal proceedings. As a result, we are unable to provide or arrange interpretation services in these circumstances.
For urgent legal or safeguarding matters, or where an official translation or interpretation is required, we strongly recommend that you instruct a certified professional translator or interpreter. This will help ensure the accuracy, reliability, and legal validity of any statements or documents involved in your case.
As an example of what BPP legal Translation Service volunteers can do, they have recently assisted Bail for Immigration Detainees (BID) by translating the first batch of their “How to Get Out of Detention” handbooks. These are now available on BID’s website, along with a news article about the project: https://www.biduk.org/articles/476-bid-s-how-to-get-out-of-detention-handbook-is-published-in-18-languages
